Black Amethyst

Black amethyst is a rare variety of quartz. It can be found with purple, blue, and red hues, but in its pure form, it takes on an opaque jet-black color. The unique hue is caused by tiny amounts of iron oxide within the crystal lattice structure, which also gives black amethysts their characteristic sparkle when exposed to light.
